Welcome to my marriage blog!

We were heading off for a three week cruise to the South Pacific.

After writing a short blog on successful marriages and families last year I now can extend the discussion in a new blog. I will come up with a title in the coming weeks, but at the moment I will call in “Navigating Relationships” I want to personalize it with my own experiences, however, I want to point the reader to structured concepts from well know thought leaders such as John M. Gottman Ph. D., Nan Silver, and H. Wallace Goddard Ph. D. As many of you know I bring Christian values and principles into my blog posts and it will be the same for this content.

I invite you to come on a journey with me as I explore marriage at a deeper level over the next 14 weeks. Where we will discuss Gottman' principles, for example, "The Truth About Marriages", "How I Predict Divorce”,” The Two Kinds of Marital Conflict", and "Creating Shared Meaning." We will delve into Goddard’s book "Drawing Heaven into Your Marriage. From experience I know I am going to grow and be able to implement concepts that will help me grow as a person. My family will benefit, and we have more meaningful discussion about family issues and resolving them in a better way. I will be careful not to disclose private matters and names. It is my hope that you may draw your own conclusions and take away something helpful the you can use with your spouse, children, and extended families. I want to write a post for those that are single and how we can all integrate more fully so family members don’t feel left out.

As I have done before I have created the blog and will improve it as the weeks progress. It would be wonderful if you would comment on my posts, ask questions, and share your own experiences. I just want to put it out there that I am not a doctor, psychologist, or paediatrician etc. I’m a father of three and have been married for 32-years. I believe I am a veteran when it comes to marriage. I AM NOT PERFECT! I make mistakes daily. In this blog I hope to answer the question, “How have you stay married for so long?” “What do you do when everything goes wrong?”
